Help: Pinning Forum Threads

Threads on MHP follow the same pattern as threads on other forums; threads are visible for as long as members are interested in the topic and as interest wanes, the thread is pushed onto subsequent pages as new threads appear. Some threads that may be of administrative importance, such as news or guidelines, or threads requiring immediate but short term attention, such as polls, can be pinned to the top of the forum. Pinning a thread to the top of the forum prevents the thread from being pushed on to subsequent pages; the thread maintains its position as the very first thread in the forum.

Pinning forum threads should be on a short-term basis only. Once the purpose of the thread has been fulfilled, you can release, or ‘unpin’ the thread.

To pin a forum thread:

  1. Click Forums> My Group Forums to view the list of forums.
  2. Click the forum name to enter the forum.
  3. Click the thread title to enter the thread.
  4. Click Pin this thread to the top of the forum.
  5. Click Update.

To unpin a forum thread:

  1. Click Forums> My Group Forums to view the list of forums.
  2. Click the forum name to enter the forum.
  3. Click the thread title to enter the thread.
  4. Click Unpin this thread from the top of the forum.
  5. Click Update.
